Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Controls Engineer (Systems Integration Engineer) to join our team in London, ON. This role is a vital member of our engineering function, directly impacting daily operations and the broader success of our technology-driven infrastructure. The ideal candidate will work closely with operations and project teams to minimize operational disruptions, implement control system enhancements, and develop a standardized data collection framework across all facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and evaluate Process Control Narratives (PCNs) for various facilities.
• Collaborate on the creation and deployment of a standardized data collection system across all sites.
• Lead the design and support of server technologies, network infrastructure, storage environments, and other related systems.
• Develop implementation strategies for control system upgrades and new services.
• Ensure high availability and performance of the production computing and data storage environments.
• Test and validate system architecture to mitigate risks to production systems.
• Evaluate and recommend new hardware and software solutions to enhance data processing and control systems.
• Maintain effective communication with vendors, programmers, and internal teams to ensure alignment on technical initiatives and daily operations.
• Design and document processes that integrate various control systems and data flows.
• Collect and analyze data to produce capacity planning and performance reports.
• Draft technical specifications, RFQs, and RFPs for equipment and services.
• Carry out other related duties as required.

Education, Experience, and Certifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of relevant industry experience.
• Experience with programming platforms such as RS View and Wonderware is preferred.

Skills and Competencies:

• Ability to travel to sites across Canada, the US, and the UK.
• Strong technical proficiency in systems such as Oracle, SQL Server, Java, Ignition Software, PLC platforms.
• Excellent problem-solving and root cause analysis skills.
• Strong analytical, planning, and prioritization capabilities.
• Clear communication skills, especially in translating technical data into actionable insights.
• Collaborative, with a proven ability to work across departments and with external partners.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
• Demonstrates confidentiality, professionalism, and ethical judgment.
• Strong negotiation and conflict-resolution abilities.

Physical and Environmental Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of desk work and computer use.
• Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.
• Work is conducted in both professional office and field environments.
