Job description

Controls Automation Engineer

Location: 1500 South Dupont Avenue, MCCONT*MCCONT Ontario, CA 91761

Duration: 5 Months

Pay rate: $50/hour

Candidate should be commutable to the listed work address. Will be onsite at the FC several days a week.

Responsibilities include working with cross-functional engineers to develop solutions from concept to implementation, integrating conveyer control solutions, automated material handling equipment, and autonomous vehicles. Create and maintain electrical schematic drawings, develop and debug control system software in ladder logic and structured text, and provide technical expertise in controls and electrical engineering. Perform on-site commissioning support and electrical wiring as needed. The role may require up to 30-40% travel.

Qualifications include a Bachelor's or Master's in Controls Engineering, Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or 3+ years of experience in control systems engineering and PLC programming. Familiarity with Ladder Logic, Structured Text, Rockwell PLC platforms (Studio 5000/RSLogix 5000), and experience with material handling systems is preferred. Knowledge of AutoCAD schematics, commissioning VFDs, PLCs, remote devices, barcode scanners, and communication protocols like Ethernet IP, DeviceNet, and Profibus is also required.
