Job summary

State Street in Toronto is seeking a Senior Controller to lead financial statements, budgets, audit support, and board reporting for the IS BU. You’ll collaborate globally to design streamlined processes and strong controls, ensuring timely and accurate reporting aligned with regulations.

You will drive documentation, balance sheet substantiation, and impairment analyses, coordinating with COE and risk governance to improve efficiency across finance operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance or Business Administration.
• 8-10+ years accounting experience in financial services and products.
• Strong analytical/quantitative skills with a track record of delivering results.
• Effective communication with stakeholders at all levels.
• Understanding of internal controls and issue resolution.
• Experience with legal entity financial reporting and regulatory issues.

Responsibilities

• Legal entity governance – financial statements, budgets, audit support, board reporting.
• Support IS BU controller on projects; design improvements, automation, standardization.
• Document controls and procedures; define roles, timelines, deliverables (15%).
• IS governance oversight; balance sheet substantiation and assurance metrics; risk forums.
• Lead quarterly A/R reserve and impairment analyses; ensure consistency across BU’s.
