Job summary

State Street in Toronto seeks an experienced Internal Audit professional with a background in Financial Crime Compliance (FCC) and/or Regulatory Compliance to join our Corporate Audit team. You will lead audits, assess regulatory frameworks, and provide effective challenge across the lines of defense.

You thrive in fast-paced environments and communicate confidently with senior leaders. You will mentor audit staff and help ensure robust coverage of AML, sanctions, KYC, and related controls.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Internal Audit experience within the financial services industry, including experience auditing Financial Crime Compliance and/or Regulatory Compliance programs.
• Experience auditing Financial Crime Compliance programs, including AML, Sanctions, KYC, Transaction Monitoring, and Financial Crime Risk Management.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience; professional certifications such as CIA, CPA, CAMS, CRCM, or equivalent are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Audit Leadership & Execution: Lead and oversee all phases of FCC and Compliance audits, including planning, risk assessment, testing, reporting, and issue validation.
• Stakeholder Engagement & Influence: Build strong relationships with business management across the lines of defense and communicate expectations to senior leaders.
• Regulatory Compliance/Financial Crimes Compliance Expertise: Stay current on regulatory developments and ensure audit coverage reflects evolving expectations; support regulatory interactions.
• People Leadership & Development: Coach and mentor audit staff and contribute to talent management and departmental initiatives.
