Job summary

Moxon Personnel Ltd. is assisting a Vancouver-based client in appointing a Controller to lead the accounting and finance functions. The successful candidate will report to the President and General Manager, supervise staff, and drive budgeting, financial reporting and key compliance processes.

The role emphasizes strong analytical and communication skills, collaboration with external auditors and financial institutions, and contributing to strategic management of the organization.

Qualifications

• CPA designation is required.

Responsibilities

Our client is extremely well established and has been a respected Vancouver business for many decades. Due to the pending retirement of the current Controller, the need has arisen to hire a new Controller to replace this person. The successful candidate will report directly to the President and General Manager and work with a dynamic management team in directing/controlling the accounting and finance functions for the organization. You will supervise several staff and ensure compliance to company policies. You will prepare the annual operating/capital budget and monthly financial statements and related management reporting. This position will require you to liaise with the External Auditors, Banks, Insurance Company etc and represent the company’s interests. You will work with the auditors regarding the annual audit. Most importantly, however, you will act as the company’s key financial resource and contribute to the overall management of the company. You should have a CPA and an established work history of leadership in a Controller function. You should possess strong analytical skills and excellent communication and organizational skills. Our client has an attractive compensation package, including a bonus.
