Controller — Family Office | Multi-Entity Environment

BluePatch Recruiting is excited to be working exclusively with a Vancouver based Family Office to help them find an awesome Controller as they enter an exciting new chapter, moving from an operational to an investment structure. This is a rare opportunity to join a high-caliber, close-knit team supporting a sophisticated and complex Family Office. It is a chance for a hands‑on, curious and motivated accounting professional who enjoys variety, values discretion, and is confident in all areas of their accounting skills for their work to truly matter.

Reporting directly to the CFO, the Controller will oversee accounting, financial reporting, controls, and tax coordination across multiple entities, trusts, and investments. You’ll be a trusted financial partner, working closely with leadership, advisors, and stakeholders in a confidential, relationship‑driven environment.

Base pay range

$120,000.00/yr - $150,000.00/yr

What You’ll Do

• Prepare consolidated financial statements across multiple entities
• Manage month‑end close, intercompany transactions, reconciliations, and controls
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
• Coordinate corporate, trust, and personal tax compliance and planning
• Support estate, trust, and family office financial reporting
• Partner with internal stakeholders, external auditors, and tax advisors
• Contribute to system & process improvements and special projects

What We’re Looking For

• 8+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Strong consolidation, multi‑entity and intercompany experience
• Public practice background strongly preferred
• Strong technical accounting and ASPE knowledge; private equity & investment accounting experience a bonus
• Proactive and able to adapt to a changing environment
• Exceptional professionalism, discretion, and attention to detail
• Clear, confident communicator comfortable working directly with all levels, both internally and externally
• Advanced Excel and accounting software skills; Sage 300 is an asset
