Recruitment Specialist at Hays | Accounting & Finance

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Controller to lead the accounting team through continued growth and success. This is a hands-on leadership role ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, brings strong technical accounting skills, and has a passion for team development and operational excellence.

What You'll Do :

• Oversee and manage full-cycle accounting operations
• Prepare and analyze gross margin reports and financial statements
• Ensure accurate reconciliation of T4s, GST, and other deductibles
• Prepare financial analysis and reports to support senior leaders' decision-making
• Coordinate accounting, budgeting, tax, and other financial operations to prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting
• Report to the Regional Director on all activities related to control and reporting for all development processes, and interface with all internal divisions of the company and partners' senior management within the organization
• Implement internal controls, oversee functions for all accounting roles, conduct performance reviews, define role job descriptions and SOPs, and ensure cross-training
• Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team to ensure high performance and professional growth

What You Bring :

• CPA designation is required
• 6–8 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably some experience in a public accounting firm
• Proven experience managing and developing teams
• Strong understanding of gross margins and financial analysis
• Proficient in Sage, QuickBooks, and Excel
• Bilingual in French is a strong asset
• Excellent time management, business ethics, and a proactive attitude
• Ability to juggle multiple priorities and meet deadlines
• Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative leadership style
