Job summary

Vaco by Highspring seeks a Controller for a 3-to-6-month contract in Canada to lead financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, reporting, and investments.

You will oversee month-end close, ASPE compliance, consolidations, and drive improvements in financial systems. CPA designation and strong Excel/AI analytics are required to guide growth and support M&A activities.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience (ASPE)
• 3–5 years of manager-level experience, comfortable leading a team
• CPA designation required
• Strong Excel and familiarity with AI analytics tools
• Ability to manage growth and adapt to change
• Private equity, M&A/restructuring, and FP&A experience preferred
• Public accounting experience an asset; industry exposure preferred
• Experience with QuickBooks Online is an asset
• Aspiration to move into leadership role

Responsibilities

• Lead budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, reporting, and investments.
• Maintain financial controls and regulatory compliance; manage banking/stakeholder relationships.
• Prepare financial statements, bank reporting, and management analyses.
• Oversee month-end/year-end close, ASPE compliance, consolidations, and support M&A activities.
• Manage operating and capital budgets, monitor variances, and drive corrective actions.
• Coordinate audits and tax filings; tax planning and multi-provincial compliance.
• Oversee payroll, commissions, benefits administration, and related allocations.
• Improve financial systems and reporting; leverage Excel and AI analytics.
• Provide strategic financial guidance on growth, profitability, and EBITDA impacts.
• Lead finance team and support investor activities including QoE reviews.

• Prepare financial statements, bank reporting, compliance certificates, and management analyses.
• Oversee month-end/year-end close, ASPE compliance, consolidations, and support M&A activities.
• Manage operating and capital budgets, monitor variances, and drive corrective actions.
• Coordinate audits, tax filings, tax planning, and multi-provincial regulatory compliance.
• Oversee payroll, commissions, benefits administration, and related-party cost allocations.
• Improve financial systems and reporting; advanced Excel, AI analytics, and consolidation experience.
• Provide strategic financial guidance on growth, profitability, cash flow, and EBITDA impacts.
• Lead the finance team and support investor activities, including QoE reviews and financial modeling.

About You
