Currently, Sener in Toronto is looking for a Senior Contracts Manager to join our team on a permanent basis. This role may involve some visits to project offices along with our head office in downtown Toronto.

Responsibilities:

  1. Monitor and foster compliance with contractual requirements by consulting with the project delivery team.
  2. Contribute to the development and implementation of risk mitigation plans, including drafting formal project communications.
  3. Interface directly with clients and liaise on all contract-related matters.
  4. Review, draft, and negotiate end customer and supplier agreements.
  5. Lead the development of contractual arrangements with colleagues from Sales, Procurement, etc.
  6. Advise on contractual structures and risks related to transactions.
  7. Ensure project delivery interests are prioritized and coordinate inputs from support functions like Finance and Insurance, especially for infrastructure and technology contracts.
  8. Manage the contract change order process.
  9. Ensure timely submission of contract requirements for change orders, with complete supporting documentation.
  10. Lead management of claims related to out-of-scope work and extensions of time, coordinating with internal stakeholders.
  11. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  1. Minimum of 10 years of experience in contract management.
  2. At least 5-7 years of experience in administering, negotiating, or managing contracts.
  3. Experience with both clients and suppliers.
  4. Management experience is an asset.
  5. Experience in the Rail or large Civil project industry is preferred.
  6. Strong interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills, with the ability to handle difficult situations professionally.
  7. An engineering background is a plus but not mandatory.
  8. Initiative-taking, capable of working independently with minimal supervision, yet a team player.
  9. Ability to understand requirements, company policies on contracts, insurance, bonding, and risk management.
  10. Fluency in other languages like French and Spanish is an asset but not mandatory.
  11. Experience working on large Rail and Infrastructure projects is required.
