Job summary

The Travelers Indemnity Company is seeking a Credit Analyst, Contract Surety to evaluate risk, analyze financial statements and support underwriting decisions. The role involves collaboration with surety brokers and internal teams to deliver timely, accurate assessments.

Based in Toronto, ON or Bedford, NS, you will pursue the ACSB program, build broker relationships and contribute to achieving target financial results through quality service and risk management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or economics.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite and assess risk for contract surety bonds.
• Analyze and interpret financial statements and forecast future performance.
• Understand a contractor's operations, experience and business plan.
• Complete formal annual account reviews.
• Underwrite bond requests and propose solutions within underwriting context.
• Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with colleagues in other parts of the organization.
• Develop relationships with assigned brokers and clients to establish a strong foundation for all business dealings.
• Demonstrate superior customer service standards.
• Work tactically with brokers to ensure they understand Travelers' objectives.
• Participate in industry functions to increase visibility in the marketplace, network with key stakeholders and increase knowledge of the industry.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
