Job summary

Travelers is seeking a Credit Analyst, Contract Surety to analyze financial information, assess risk for contract surety bonds, and build strong relationships with brokers and clients. The role may be based in Toronto, ON or Bedford, NS, offering growth into sales and business development.

Responsibilities include underwriting bonds, interpreting financial statements, reviewing annual accounts, and collaborating with teams across the organization to deliver superior service and underwriting

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with a business discipline specialization in finance, accounting or economics.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite and assess risk for contract surety bonds.
• Analyze financial statements and forecast performance.
• Understand a contractor’s operations, experience and business plan.
• Complete formal annual account reviews.
• Underwrite bond requests and propose solutions.
• Build collaborative relationships across the organization.
• Enroll in ACSB program offered through the Surety Association of Canada and the University of Toronto.
• Develop broker and client relationships to establish a strong business foundation.
• Demonstrate superior customer service standards.
• Collaborate with brokers to align Travelers’ objectives.
• Participate in industry events to increase visibility.

Education
