Job summary

Trisura, headquartered in Canada, is seeking a qualified Underwriter, Commercial Surety for our Toronto office. This role focuses on national commercial surety initiatives and building strong broker relationships in a fast-paced environment.

Downtown Toronto - Hybrid work. Requirements include a BCom or BA in Business/Finance, 2+ years in financial analysis, strong communication and client service. Salary range $70,000-$90,000 CAD, with compensation aligned to experience.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in financial statement analysis, financial modeling or valuation
• Prior experience in surety, finance, or commercial banking is a plus
• Bilingual in French and English is an asset

Responsibilities

• Perform financial analysis of new submissions and existing business
• Provide underwriting support for branch offices across the country on new submissions and monitor existing business for all classes of commercial surety
• Assist with development and assessment of new programs and enhancements of existing programs
• Participate with audit teams on branch accounts and programs
• Manage online and manual programs for over-line authorizations, cancellations and endorsements
• Develop and enhance broker relationships
• Collaborate with E-Commerce on commercial surety initiatives
• Assist in bringing new products to market
• Assist in production of marketing materials
• Engage with US partners and manage premium bordereaus
• Oversee the Commercial Surety online knowledge centre
