Job summary

Amaco Construction Equipment Inc. in Mississauga is seeking a Staff Accountant II to support the accounting team with general ledger maintenance, reconciliations, and month-end close.

This temporary, fixed-term role covers maternity leave and will work closely with the Assistant Controller to ensure accurate financial records in accordance with GAAP. You will prepare journal entries, assist with audits, and support financial reporting, inventory and intercompany activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and prepaid expense entries.
• Perform general ledger, bank, and intercompany reconciliations.
• Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial reporting.
• Support the preparation of financial statements and reporting packages.
• Monitor and reconcile inventory and equipment financing records.
• Assist with audits and compliance reporting.
• Support Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and payroll functions as needed.
• Participate in process improvements and special projects.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies.
