Overview

The Contracts Specialist will provide direct end-to-end supply chain support to projects. The Contracts Specialist will collaboratively develop supply chain management (SCM) plans and strategies, and ensure that execution of supply chain work reliably delivers safe, cost-effective, and on-time provision of equipment, materials, and services.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for sourcing and contracting of all project needs for the lifecycle of the project (concept, through sanction, and to close-out).
  • Develop SCM plans – including coordinating and cohesively incorporating inputs from multiple stakeholders – in accordance with Company’s Project Delivery System (PDS).
  • Draft contract strategies for both competitive and single-/sole-source situations.
  • Create, issue, evaluate, and award RFx sourcing events.
  • Responsible for all contract formation and post-award administration activities (including monitoring progress, managing change documentation, managing disputes/claims management, etc.). Ensure thorough and complete contract close-outs.
  • Actively coordinate SCM requirements across the organization, including alignment and collaboration with Materials Management, Category Management, etc.
  • Foster a positive, respectful, and communicative team environment by sharing information and learnings within and across project teams.
  • Monitor various systems for demand, attestation, and approvals (incl. GEP, Maximo).
  • Maintain accurate, complete, and correctly-referenced PO and contract documentation.
  • Build and foster relationships with internal and external stakeholders based on trust and delivering on commitments.
  • Participation in the development and adoption of end-to-end supply chain processes, procedures, and standards.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of the SCM function.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 years of Supply Chain Management experience in heavy industry (energy, mining, processing, etc.). Preference for North American oil & gas experience.
  • Diploma or Degree in Business, Finance, Legal or a related commercial discipline (Supply Chain Management focus is considered an asset).
  • Experience sourcing and contracting for complex services.
  • Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment and passion for Supply Chain and the value it can drive.
  • Highly organized, in all aspects of the work.
  • Proactive and thrives in fast-paced project environments.
  • Experience with procurement and contract management systems is preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
