Job summary

ML6 is partnering with a diversified organization to identify a Senior Accountant/Assistant Controller for a 12-15 month maternity leave contract in Kelowna, Canada. The role covers multi-entity accounting, property management and construction project costing, with responsibilities spanning month-end close, financial reporting and audit support.

The ideal candidate will have strong GAAP knowledge, advanced Excel skills, and CPA considerations, ensuring accurate statements and timely closes while

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in Accounting or Finance.
• CPA designation or progress toward CPA preferred.
• Experience in general ledger accounting and financial reporting.

Responsibilities

• Manage month-end, quarter-end and year-end accounting activities and prepare financial statements.
• Maintain accurate records across multiple entities and reconcile discrepancies.
• Oversee property-related accounting including tenant billing, CAM recoveries and utilities.
• Support accounts receivable and vendor payment runs.
• Provide project cost tracking and budgeting support for construction initiatives.
• Assist with audits, GST filings and internal controls.
