Job summary

Whitecap Resources Inc. in Canada is seeking a field operator to support operation and maintenance of field equipment, ensuring efficient gas production while upholding safety, health, environmental, and regulatory compliance.

You will oversee daily operations, perform inspections, document reports, and collaborate with teams on safety and regulatory compliance. The role requires a minimum of 5 years oil-field experience and ability to work rotating shifts near Fox Creek, Alberta.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years oil-field well operating experience.
• Good computer skills and data record keeping.
• Current safety training including First Aid/CPR and H2S.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operation, inspection, maintenance and repair of field equipment.
• Maintain a safety-conscious attitude and prioritise Environment, Health & Safety.
• Maintain accurate records and submit required documents and reports related to field operations and equipment.
• Perform housekeeping duties to keep equipment, well sites and control room clean and clear.
• Conduct routine well maintenance, chemical pump checks and repairs, plunger/bumper spring measuring and replacement.
• Conduct safety and compliance inspections (Safety, Tanks, Lease…).
• Perform pipeline operations and maintenance (Pigging, chemical programs, inspections).

Role Overview

A key member of the Kaybob South area operations team, you will support the operation and maintenance of field equipment, ensuring efficient, cost‑effective gas production while maintaining safety, health, environmental, and regulatory compliance.

Main Responsibilities & Activities

• Oversee day‑to‑day operation, inspection, maintenance, alteration and repair of field equipment.
• Ensure Environment, Health & Safety is a top priority and complete all work with a safety‑conscious attitude.
• Maintain accurate records and submit required documents and reports related to field operations and equipment.
• Perform housekeeping duties to keep equipment, well sites and control room clean and clear.
• Conduct routine well maintenance, chemical pump checks and repairs, plunger/bumper spring measuring and replacement.
• Conduct safety and compliance inspections (Safety, Tanks, Lease…).
• Perform pipeline operations and maintenance (Pigging, chemical programs, inspections).

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Minimum 5 years oil‑field well operating experience (flowing wells, plunger wells, gas lift wells, well‑site power generation).
• Good computer skills.
• Self‑motivated, open‑minded and results‑oriented.
• Current safety training including First Aid/CPR and H2S.

Other Information

• Must be able to work an 8‑days‑on/6‑days‑off shift with a rotating schedule when required.
• Work location adjacent to Fox Creek, Alberta; candidates from Whitecourt area considered.
• Required to work overtime and holidays if they fall during normal work schedule.
