Job description

Hourly: $52.41 to $114.65 per hour. Per Three Credit Course: $7,947.
Actual salary or hourly rate will be based on the number of credits and term of appointment according to the Collective Agreement.

The Political Science Department in the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at Douglas College is accepting applications for a contract instructor for the Summer 2025 semester.

  • You will instruct students, facilitate learning and evaluate student progress in College Political Science courses.
  • You will also be responsible for planning, organizing and managing learning activities and resources, providing academic advice to learners and maintaining quality learner‐centered instruction.
  • The successful candidate will be able to teach Introduction to World Politics (POLI 1103) during the Summer 2025 term.
  • The candidate must possess a doctoral degree in political science from an accredited institution or be near completion; have an academic background in World Politics/International Relations; have teaching experience at the post-secondary level; and be able to work independently and in teams.
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to students and the ability to teach diverse student groups.
