About Us:

Maverick Payments is a family-owned and privately held full-service payment provider located in Calabasas, California. We have created innovative technology designed for sales organizations, such as ISO’s and ISV’s, looking to monetize payments by reselling our white-labeled payments stack. Our products include merchant acquiring services, a proprietary gateway, ACH processing, fraud & chargeback tools, analytics, and other value-added services. Our team encompasses underwriting, risk management, compliance & legal, technology & product development, onboarding, customer support, IT, and more.

About the Position:

Under the supervision of the Vice President, Risk and Underwriting, and the Director of Underwriting, the Underwriting Analyst I will be responsible for underwriting merchant accounts, verifying merchant data, and determining approval status. The department handles merchant application underwriting, due diligence, and routine verification of merchant data (KYC / KYB).

  1. Collect, review, and analyze merchant applicant data, obtaining additional information as needed to assess suitability.
  2. Determine the risk level and security requirements for approval.
  3. Provide recommendations on application approval.
  4. Coordinate with outside agents regarding merchant applications.
  5. Respond to tickets and requests from customers, partners, and internal staff.
  6. Gather data for reporting purposes.
  7. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 2-5 years of experience in the payment industry.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Experience with TSYS, First Data, and similar merchant processing applications.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data to improve business operations.

Pay Range: $26-$29/hr. This position considers remote work in the following states: AZ, CA (outside Los Angeles), CO, FL, GA, ID, IN, MA, MD, ME, NC, NJ, NV, NY, OH, PA, TN, TX, UT, VA, WA.
