Job summary

BrightPath Early Learning & Child Care in Edmonton is seeking an Assistant Centre Director to work closely with teachers and families in providing a nurturing environment. Responsibilities include managing the centre's operation, overseeing staff recruitment and training, and handling administrative tasks.

Ideal candidates are Registered Early Childhood Educators with at least two years of experience, knowledgeable in province regulations. The position offers a full-time contract with health benefits and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Up-to-date immunization and Health Assessment as per local Ministry of Health requirements.
• Two years experience as an RECE is required – Montessori trained is a major asset.

Job Type: Contract Full-Time, September 2026 - September 2027

What will you be doing?

As an Assistant Centre Director, you will work side‑by‑side with teachers and families to provide a home away from home for children in our care. Responsibilities include:

• Assisting the Centre Director with managing the overall operation of the centre including recruitment and development of staff, management of policies and procedures, child safety, environmental health/hygiene, and province licensing.
• Ensuring that all staff members understand the objectives and expectations within each classroom.
• Managing administrative tasks such as processing payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general communications.
• Understanding and enforcing all province regulations within the building.
• Implementing and ensuring completion of training for all staff members.
• Providing effective communication with families about their child.
• All other duties as assigned.

Requirements
