Job Description

Due to continued growth, CIMA+ has an immediate opening for Contract Administrators working west of the Greater Toronto area, including Hamilton, London, and Niagara. These positions offer the chance to join our innovative municipal infrastructure group, supporting various engineering disciplines such as infrastructure, transportation, water, and wastewater. You will work on projects like municipal road construction, water supply and distribution, and waste and stormwater collection.

This role is based in our Burlington or London office.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Manage inspection services and quality assurance
  • Oversee measurement of construction progress and prepare payment certificates
  • Maintain written and photographic records, including report submissions
  • Review and recommend on Contract Change Requests and Claims
  • Provide conflict resolution and field solutions for unforeseen construction issues
  • Manage responses to Contractor’s RFI’s and clarification requests
  • Lead construction progress meetings
  • Coordinate with contractors, clients, and municipal officials on project updates, including report preparation and issuance
  • Ensure familiarity with current traffic control regulations
  • Understand relevant environmental regulations, municipal approvals, and local by-laws
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Positive attitude with strong leadership, communication, interpersonal skills, and employment record
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in contract administration within municipal infrastructure, transportation, treatment, and transmission infrastructure
  • Thorough knowledge of construction and contracting principles, including contract changes, claims, and delays
  • Experience in project planning, risk management, cost and schedule management, and contract documentation
  • Ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications
  • Capable of working independently and as part of a team
  • MTO Class ‘G’ driver’s license in good standing and access to a vehicle
  • Effective communication skills for dealing with staff, contractors, and the public
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Ontario Provincial Standards and Specifications (OPSS)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Project, Outlook)
