CIMA+ is seeking a Contract Administrator for our Infrastructure Field Services team in the Greater Toronto Area. You will support contract administration and risk management on complex municipal water and wastewater projects, collaborating with engineers, designers, and site staff to ensure compliance and successful delivery.

Qualifications

  • Experience in contract administration for water and/or wastewater infrastructure projects.
  • Ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Knowledge of OPSS and Ontario regulations for municipal projects.
  • Strong communication and leadership abilities within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Valid MTO Class G driver’s license and access to a vehicle.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and construction management software.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret contract documents and administer construction contracts.
  • Review progress, prepare payment certificates, and certify payments.
  • Evaluate Contract Change Requests and Claims; manage change processes.
  • Collaborate with design teams to respond to RFIs and claims.
  • Monitor progress and ensure contract compliance.
  • Lead progress meetings and maintain meeting minutes.
  • Foster relationships with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies.

Working alongside experienced engineers, designers, and construction professionals, you will help deliver critical infrastructure while building lasting relationships with clients and contractors across the Greater Toronto Area.


A well-qualified Contract Administrator will work with our engineering team of designers and site representatives to provide contract administration and risk management, and to evaluate compliance requirements defined in RFPs and construction contracts including review of regulations and Client requirements.

Primary Responsibilities


  • Interpret contract documents and administer construction contracts.

  • Review progress, prepare payment certificates, and certify payments

  • Review, provide recommendations on, and resolve Contract Change Requests and Claims while managing change management processes

  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary engineering and design teams to evaluate and respond to RFIs, change requests, claims and contract disputes

  • Monitor construction progress and contract compliance

  • Resolve field issues in collaboration with the project team

  • Identify project risks and recommend practical solutions

  • Lead construction progress meetings and prepare minutes

  • Foster strong working relationships with clients, contractors, municipal staff and regulatory agencies

  • Contribute to the success of the Infrastructure Field Services team through additional project-related responsibilities as required



  • Contract administration experience in construction/reconstruction of water and/or wastewater infrastructure including water and wastewater treatment, water supply, storage and distribution and wastewater collection

  • Strong understanding of construction contract administration, including contract interpretation, change management, claims, scheduling and dispute resolution.

  • Licensed member of the Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO) or Certified Civil Engineering Technologist (C.E.T.) would be considered an asset

  • Positive attitude with good leadership, communication and interpersonal skills

  • Experience in project planning, risk management, cost management, schedule management and preparation/administration of contract documents and specifications

  • Ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications

  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a multidisciplinary team

  • MTO Class ‘G’ driver’s license in good standing and access to a personnel vehicle

  • Effective communicator possessing demonstrated skills in dealing with other staff, contractors, and the public, with matters arising from construction projects

  • Familiarity with current traffic control regulations

  • Familiarity with relevant environmental regulations, municipal approvals and local by-laws

  • Possess working knowledge of the Occupation Health and Safety Act and its Regulations, and Ontario Provincial Standards and Specifications (OPSS) for Municipal projects

  • Experience using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and Project).

  • Experience with MS Project, Bluebeam, Procore or other construction management software is considered an asset.
