Job summary

AGI is seeking a Continuous Improvement Coordinator in St. Boniface, MB to lead lean manufacturing initiatives and drive continuous improvement across safety, quality, delivery, and cost performance.

You will coordinate cross-functional CI projects, assist with Lean tools, and analyze data to identify waste and opportunity. Strong teamwork, communication, and problem-solving are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Manufacturing or a related field.
• Two years of experience in manufacturing, engineering, or continuous improvement.
• Basic understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles is preferred.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; excellent communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and cost.
• Coordinate and participate in cross-functional CI projects.
• Assist with Lean tools: 5S, Standard Work, Visual Management, Value Stream Mapping, problem solving.
• Identify opportunities to reduce waste and improve efficiency.
• Collect and analyze production data to spot trends and gaps.
• Monitor KPIs related to operational performance and report findings.
• Conduct time studies and observe processes to find inefficiencies.
• Map current and future-state processes and document standard work.
• Participate in root cause analysis using 5 Whys, Fishbone, etc.
• Evaluate processes, equipment, and workflow improvements.
• Support implementation plans and track progress to drive actions.
• Develop and maintain standard work documentation and SOPs.
• Support training on Lean principles and standardized work.
• Maintain visual management systems and workplace organization.
• Promote safety, quality, teamwork, and continuous improvement culture.
• Participate in workplace observations and corrective actions for safety.

Position Title: Continuous Improvement Coordinator

Location: St. Boniface, MB

The Opportunity

Continuous Improvement Coordinator leads the lean manufacturing process through the facilitation of continuous improvement efforts in quality, cost, delivery times, morale, and safety initiatives.

Responsibilities:

• Support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at improving safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and cost performance.
• Coordinate and participate in continuous improvement projects with cross-functional teams.
• Assist with the implementation and sustainability of Lean Manufacturing tools, including, 5S, Standard Work, Visual Management, Value Stream Mapping, and Problem-Solving Methodologies.
• Assist in identifying opportunities to reduce waste and improve operational efficiency.
• Collect, organize, and analyze production and operational data to identify trends, gaps, and improvement opportunities.
• Monitor and report key performance indicators (KPIs) related to operational performance.
• Assist in conducting time studies and observing manufacturing processes to identify inefficiencies and opportunities for improvement.
• Support process mapping activities and document current and future-state processes.
• Participate in root cause analysis activities using tools such as 5 Whys, Fishbone Diagrams, and other structured problem-solving methodologies.
• Assist with evaluating manufacturing processes, equipment, and workflow improvements.
• Support implementation plans for approved process improvement initiatives.
• Track project progress and help ensure action items are completed on schedule.
• Assist in developing and maintaining standard work documentation and operating procedures.
• Support employee training initiatives related to Lean principles, standardized work, and continuous improvement practices.
• Help maintain visual management systems and workplace organization standards.
• Promote a culture of safety, quality, teamwork, and continuous improvement throughout the organization.
• Support health and safety improvement initiatives by participating in workplace observations, assessments, and corrective action activities.
• Follow all company policies, procedures, and the AGI Code of Business Ethics and related compliance requirements.
• Support special projects and operational initiatives as assigned.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as required.
