Job summary

AGI, a global leader in food-based infrastructure, seeks an Assembler in Nobleford, AB. You will assemble products per drawings and SOPs, using hand tools and cranes as needed, contributing to safety and quality.

You will work with production teams to review parts against drawings, perform tests, and support continuous improvement initiatives, with opportunities to cross-train in additional processes such as powder coating and blasting.

Qualifications

  • Attention to detail and accuracy in assembly.
  • Ability to handle repetitive tasks.
  • Able to read, understand and follow blueprints.
  • Able to read and interpret a tape measure.
  • Strong teamwork and communication with supervisor and colleagues.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment handling heavy loads and standing for long periods.

  • Test (air or mechanical) product to ensure functional capabilities.
  • Propose potential quality or productivity enhancements.
  • Review finished assemblies & parts to ensure accuracy against drawings & BOMs.
  • Report fabrication issues and assist in resolutions as required.
  • Operation of overhead crane and jib crane (if applicable).
  • Cross train in Powder Coating and Blasting (if applicable).
  • Ensure quality checks of products are completed as required.

Position Title: Assembler
Department: Production
Location: Nobleford, AB

The Opportunity

Responsible for working both independently and as a team member to assemble products according to specifications and drawings by using various hand tools.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble materials according to SOPs, SWIs and product specifications using engineering drawings
  • Operate hand tools within the department
  • Review finish parts to ensure accuracy against drawings
  • Test (air or mechanical) product to ensure functional capabilities
  • Propose potential quality or productivity enhancements i.e. continual improvements
  • Review finished assemblies & parts to ensure accuracy against drawings & BOMs.
  • Report fabrication issues and assist in resolutions as required.
  • Operation of overhead crane and jib crane (if applicable)
  • Work in confined space and at heights requiring a fall arrest system (if applicable)
  • Cross train in Powder Coating and Blasting (if applicable)
  • Ensure quality checks of products are completed as required
  • Complete required PMs and calibrations for their machines and tools
  • Report any quality concerns to lead hand
  • Complete job orders using Kanban cards and job orders properly (if applicable)
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude towards change and company vision
  • Be proactive in requirements regarding material, tool and inventory needs
  • Keep work area clean
  • Keep up with production demand
  • Perform Touch Quality Checks (TQC’s)
  • Meeting defined production schedule deadlines
  • Reading and following blueprints to ensure quality assemblies
  • Follow safety policies and procedures
  • Other duties as assigned
