Job summary

The Kahkewistahaw First Nation #72 is seeking a Continuing Care Assistant (CCA) to deliver in-home personal care, respite, and household support based on assessed needs.

As a CCA, you will promote client independence and collaborate with Home Care RN/Assessor/Supervisor. CPR/AED and First Aid certification, a valid driver’s license, and a clean background check are required.

Qualifications

• Certificate from SIAST/Polytech or other recognized institute in the Home Care Aide, Special Care Aide, or Continuing Care Assistant program.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Must be currently certified in CPR/AED and First Aid.
• Must have a clear Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector check.
• Must be physically and mentally capable of performing duties, including lifting 25 lbs.
• Ability to speak/understand language(s) of the Nation is an asset.
• Knowledge/awareness of the First Nation culture is an asset.
• Demonstrated ability to take direction and to work with others.
• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
