Job summary

MCG Careers in Calgary Downtown is seeking a Content Developer to join the Employer Advantage team. You’ll craft clear, engaging content for web and print, translate complex information into plain language, and support labour market content, newsletters, reports, and workforce trend updates for employers.

We value collaboration, independence, a detail‑oriented mindset, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines while aligning with program goals and audience needs.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or degree in communications, marketing, journalism, digital media, or a related field; experience in adult learning, career development, or social services.
  • Demonstrated experience in content creation for web and social platforms.
  • Strong writing and editing skills.
  • Experience translating complex information into plain language resources.
  • Working knowledge of content management systems and basic design tools (Canva, Adobe Express, or similar).
  • Familiarity with inclusive employment or workforce development contexts is an asset.
  • Able to manage multiple deadlines, take initiative, and work independently while staying aligned with program goals and audience needs.
  • Collaboration – you can work closely with a team to support overall program goals.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively in a team setting to create clear, engaging, and employer-centred content across digital and print platforms.
  • Develop labour market content, including monthly newsletters, reports, articles, blogs, and workforce trend updates for employers.
  • Create and maintain digital content for the website, employer resource library, webinars, training materials, and online learning resources.
  • Produce content that promotes inclusive hiring, workplace accessibility, and effective employer engagement, including toolkits, guides, success stories, training materials, and promotional assets.
  • Support content planning through basic digital analytics, tracking engagement trends, and recommending improvements to increase reach and usability.
  • Work collaboratively with Employer Advantage staff to identify content needs, gather subject matter input, and translate program information into accessible, practical resources for employers.

About the Employer Advantage Program

The Employer Advantage Program works directly with employers to provide 1:1 support, guiding them through employment services and connecting them with the right resources. Our Employer Advantage Consultants provide employers with practical support, including HR tools, templates, and expert advice on hiring, workplace policies, and leadership development.
