Content Designer
Location: Hybrid (required to work in-office on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday, and remotely on Wednesday and Friday) | Toronto
Duration: 12 months | Likely extension or conversion to full-time
Daily Responsibilities:
- Creates content artifacts for digital media to exchange information, elicit emotion, and facilitate interaction.
- Develops UI content, accessibility content, labels, explanatory text, hidden or alternative text, metadata, support, and go-to-market content to explore, communicate intent, and validate ideas for complex systems and interrelated client experiences.
- Understands the problem/opportunity and uses ‘design thinking’ methods to formulate solutions.
- Collaborates with the design team and cross-functional partners to align on solutions and their delivery.
- Partners with peers to shape and develop non-textual content (e.g., iconography, information graphics, imagery, data).
- Performs content design audits where appropriate.
- Collaborates with Legal, Compliance, and Regulatory teams to ensure all content meets governance requirements while fulfilling client needs.
- Manages end-to-end translation processes with internal and external partners.
- Applies content guidelines and standards to ensure solutions adhere to the bank's tone and voice.
Must-have Skills/Experiences and/or Education, certifications, qualifications, designations:
- A post-secondary education, ideally with a university degree or college diploma.
- At least 4 years of writing experience at a creative agency or in-house creative team.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and critical thinking ability.
- A portfolio showcasing copywriting work samples.
- Strong working knowledge of content design methodologies.
- Strong technical understanding and expertise in content design practice, theory, and tools.
- Strong verbal and copywriting skills.
- User-centered design foundation, prioritizing user needs, pain points, and behaviors.
Nice-to-have Skills/Experience and/or Education, certifications, qualifications, designations:
- Facility in French.
- Knowledge of accessibility standards and methods.
- Understanding of current design and technology trends.
- Product design experience and understanding of product development practices.
- Experience leading and facilitating workshops.
- Experience working with large design teams and multiple stakeholders (Product/Business/Technical).
- Research and user testing experience.
