Overview
Content Designer — We're looking for an intermediate to senior content designer to help support the Canadian Digital Banking Product Teams at a major bank. We need writers with strong UX writing skills who can write in a focused, friendly tone for online banking scenarios with high utility needs. Accessibility writing skills are also key.
Nice to have: UX writing that leans more marketing in tone, where needed.
Responsibilities
- Own the content of a project and help shape feature definitions in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Confidently challenge briefs to better understand the customer problem before crafting a content solution; explore a variety of options and deliver the best approach with clear rationale.
- Translate complex content challenges into simple, engaging customer experiences; craft concise, effective, and creative messages.
- Lead and influence the user experience beyond content alone, strategizing page/ screen/ flow layout and collaborating with visual designers to implement ideas.
- Clarify success metrics and connect content efforts to business value.
- Understand design patterns across systems and work across boundaries to ensure consistency.
- Adhere to existing content guidelines while being comfortable operating where governance is evolving.
- Systematically explore content solutions, providing multiple options and tying them to business objectives.
- Evaluate the impact and effectiveness of designs from qualitative and quantitative perspectives; use insights to inform strategy and future iterations.
- Communicate rationale effectively to partners, stakeholders, and executives.
- Be recognized by peers for the quality of work and seek feedback beyond the immediate team.
- Balance self-directed work with asking the right questions and seeking feedback when needed.
Qualifications
- Experience level: intermediate to senior content designer.
- Strong UX writing skills with a focus on clarity and a friendly tone for banking scenarios.
- Accessibility writing skills.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to legacy tech; ability to write around legacy systems or advocate for additional builds to support UX.
- Understanding of code bases / CMS is helpful.
Nice to have
- UX writing that leans more marketing in tone where appropriate.
- Adobe Analytics (nice to have).
