Job summary

Intact FC is seeking Actuarial Consultants to join growing teams in Canada. You will coach analysts, lead strategic actuarial projects, and contribute to business planning while applying expertise in ratemaking, reinsurance, and data science.

Preferred candidates hold an actuarial designation (ACAS/FCAS) with 5+ years in P&C, and are proficient in Python, Excel, VBA or SAS; hybrid Canada work model.

Qualifications

• University degree or any combination of equivalent education and experience.
• ACAS or FCAS certification preferred in actuarial field.
• 5+ years actuarial experience, preferably in P&C insurance.
• Strong knowledge of Python, Excel, VBA or SAS.
• Desirable: adaptability, analytics, decision-making, mentoring, teamwork.
• No Canadian work experience required but eligible to work in Canada.

Responsibilities

• Actively participate in coaching and training of actuarial analysts.
• Lead large-scale actuarial projects in areas like ratemaking and reserving.
• Guide colleagues through complex problem solving and reviews.
• Contribute to business strategy discussions and initiatives.

Salary range (but not limited to):

109,900 - 134,300

Annual bonus target, based on the base salary, with a potential payout of up to double the target (subject to personal and company performance):

Salary for the candidate will be determined taking into consideration a number of factors including: experience, skills, qualifications, anticipated contribution to role, internal equity, etc. The salary range presented above is based on a 35-hour workweek and would represent a majority of different candidate profiles. However, we encourage candidates who may fall outside of this range to apply as well.

About the role

We’re on the lookout for new talent for our growing teams. We’re currently seeking Actuarial Consultants!

What you’ll do here:

• Actively participate in the coaching and training of actuarial analysts
• Work autonomously on challenging and strategic projects in areas such as ratemaking, reinsurance, corporate planning, data science, reserving and more.
• Use your expertise to lead large-scale actuarial projects.
• Demonstrate your leadership by contributing to business strategy discussions, seizing opportunities and sharing your passion and vision.
• Provide guidance to your colleagues through coaching, complex problem-solving and both technical and peer reviews.

What you bring to the table:

• University Degree or any combination of equivalent education and experience.
• Certification in Mathematics, Statistic, Actuarial, ACAS or FCAS preferred.
• 5 years or more of actuarial experience (preferably in the P&C Insurance sector).
• Good knowledge of Python, Excel, VBA or SAS.
• Desirable competencies: adaptability, innovative, analytical, decision-making, critical thinking, stellar communication, planning, organizing and team oriented.
• No Canadian work experience required however must be eligible to work in Canada.
