Job summary

Intact in Calgary, Alberta, is seeking a Consultant in Actuarial to join our growing team. This role involves coaching actuarial analysts and leading large-scale projects in areas such as ratemaking and data science. A university degree and 5+ years of actuarial experience are required.

Pay and Bonuses

Salary Range (but Not Limited To): 109,900 - 134,300 CAD (based on a 35‑hour workweek).

Annual Bonus Target: Based on the base salary, with a potential payout of up to double the target (subject to personal and company performance).

Employee Share Purchase Plan (ESPP): Intact matching 50% of your net shares.

About The Role

Responsibilities

• Actively participate in the coaching and training of actuarial analysts.
• Work autonomously on challenging and strategic projects in areas such as ratemaking, reinsurance, corporate planning, data science, reserving and more.
• Use your expertise to lead large‑scale actuarial projects.
• Demonstrate your leadership by contributing to business strategy discussions, seizing opportunities and sharing your passion and vision.
• Provide guidance to colleagues through coaching, complex problem‑solving and both technical and peer reviews.

Qualifications

• University degree or any combination of equivalent education and experience.
• Certification in Mathematics, Statistic, Actuarial, ACAS or FCAS preferred.
• 5 years or more of actuarial experience (preferably in the P&C Insurance sector).
• Good knowledge of Python, Excel, VBA or SAS.
• Desired competencies: adaptability, innovative, analytical, decision‑making, critical thinking, stellar communication, planning, organizing and team oriented.
• No Canadian work experience required; must be eligible to work in Canada.
