Job summary

Intact Financial Corporation seeks a Senior Actuarial Analyst to resolve complex problems and support strategic projects across ratemaking, reinsurance, and corporate planning. You will drive process improvements and share insights with stakeholders.

The role requires 3+ years in actuarial work within P&C, and strong knowledge of Python, VBA, and SAS. This is a hybrid position located in Canada, with strong compensation and bonus potential.

Qualifications

• University degree or equivalent education in actuarial science or a related field.
• Certifications in mathematics or actuarial science (ACAS preferred).
• 3+ years actuarial experience in P&C insurance is expected.

Responsibilities

• Resolve complex actuarial problems and share knowledge with colleagues.
• Lead strategic projects in ratemaking, reinsurance, planning, and data science.
• Improve processes and provide actionable recommendations on timelines.
• Guide and coach team members to strengthen individual and group performance.
• Present analysis conclusions to stakeholders within established timelines.

About the role

What you’ll do here

• Use your expertise to resolve complex problems and help your colleagues in doing the same by sharing your actuarial knowledge.
• Work autonomously on challenging, strategic projects in areas such as ratemaking, reinsurance, corporate planning, data science, reserving and more.
• Drive change by improving work processes and making substantial observations, conclusions and recommendations.
• Help guide and prioritize the team’s work and coach effectively to strengthen both individual and group success.
• Share the conclusions of your analysis to the appropriate stakeholders and make recommendations within the established timelines.

What you bring to the table

• University Degree or any combination of equivalent education and experience.
• Certifications in Mathematics, Actuarial, ACAS preferred.
• 3 years or more of actuarial experience (preferably in the P&C Insurance sector).
• Good knowledge of Python, VBA, R or SAS.
• Desirable competencies: adaptability, innovative, analytical, decision making, critical thinking, stellar communication, planning and organizing, team oriented.
