Job summary

Autism Services is seeking a crane operator for on-site work in Saskatchewan. The role involves loading, unloading and transporting construction materials, performing pre-operational inspections and operating a range of cranes to lift, move and place equipment and materials.

You will assist in site assembly, rigging and alignment tasks, help with lining up pipelines and structures, and maintain cranes through cleaning and lubrication. Overtime may be available; free parking is provided.

Tasks

• Load, unload and transport construction materials
• Measure weight to prepare for rigging and hoisting
• Operate mobile and tower cranes to lift, move, position or place equipment and materials
• Perform pre-operational inspection
• Clean and lubricate cranes
• Erect and dismantle concrete forms, scaffolding, ramps, catwalks shoring and barricades
• Operate pile driving cranes to drive pilings into earth to provide support for buildings and other structures
• Instruct apprentices
• Mix, pour and spread materials such as concrete and asphalt
• Operate cranes equipped with dredging attachments to dredge waterways and other areas
• Assemble tower cranes on site
• Help medical examiner in charge
• Operate gantry cranes to load and unload ship cargo at port side
• Assist in aligning pipes during pipeline construction
• Operate locomotive cranes to move objects and materials at railway yards
• Assist in drilling and blasting rock on construction sites
• Operate bridge or overhead cranes to lift, move and place plant machinery and materials
• Assist in framing houses, erecting walls and building roofs
• Operate offshore oil rig cranes to unload and reload supply vessels
• Level earth to fine grade specifications
• Operate cranes mounted on boats or barges to lift, move and place equipment and materials
• Pave and rake asphalt
• Assist in demolishing buildings
• Clean and pile salvaged materials
• Operate dragline cranes to expose coal seams and ore deposits at open pit mines
• Perform routine maintenance work
• Clean up chemical spills and other contaminants
• Remove rubble and other debris at construction sites
• Tend or feed machines or equipment used in construction
• Direct traffic at or near construction sites
