Job summary

Kibbi is seeking a Health and Safety Officer to oversee safety programs at construction sites across Greater Vancouver, including outdoor, dusty and noisy environments. You will develop plans, conduct inspections, train staff and report findings with senior management.

Requirements include 2–3 years in health and safety, a College/CEGEP credential, First Aid, WHMIS, and NCSO training. Excellent communication and organization are essential, with English proficiency and team spirit.

Qualifications

  • 2–3 years of experience in health and safety.
  • Experience in construction environments is a plus.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations and inspections.

Responsibilities

  • Provide information/training to employers, employees and general public.
  • Establish and implement policies and procedures.
  • Collect samples of materials for analysis.
  • Inspect spills of hazardous chemicals or products.
  • Inspect workplaces for safety or health hazards.
  • Investigate workplace accidents or illnesses.
  • Develop and implement health and safety plans.
  • Ensure health and safety regulations are followed.
  • Oversee the preparation of reports.
  • Advise senior management.
  • Evaluate work environments, programs and procedures to control, eliminate, and prevent disease or injury.
  • Prepare draft investigative reports of findings.
