Job summary

CrossSafety in Ontario is seeking a Construction Safety Consultant to act as a trusted advisor on health and safety for construction projects and complex operations. You will promote compliance with OH&S requirements, guide risk management, support project teams, and conduct health and safety audits, inspections, and incident investigations.

Based in St.Thomas, the role is salaried with starting compensation of $75,000 to $95,000 per year, and offers extensive benefits including extended health,

Qualifications

• Certificate or Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety or related certification.
• Field experience in construction or high hazard environments (Associate – 1 year).
• CRSP, CSP, CHST, CIH or ROH designation.
• Strong knowledge of Ontario workplace health and safety laws.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and health and safety reporting tools.
• Hands-on experience with field-level audits and inspections.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication.
• Initiative, ability to multitask and strong expectation management.
• Valid Class G driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Provide guidance on health, safety, and environmental issues.
• Advise project teams on hazards and protective measures.
• Provide health and safety input to design, planning, constructability and operability reviews.
• Manage risks to workers and the public on live sites.
• Undertake health and safety assurance audits.
• Perform regular site safety inspections and coordinate corrective actions.
• Assist with incident investigations.
• Liaise with client staff and regulatory agencies.
• Prepare detailed professional reports and records.
