Job summary

Bird is seeking a Construction Project Manager to lead daily management of assigned projects, overseeing safety, schedule, budget and quality. The role rotates between site and office and requires strong leadership and relationship-building across clients, consultants and subcontractors.

Ideal candidates will have 10 years of industrial construction experience, 5–10 years in PM/Estimating, and a proven track record managing multi-million dollar projects. A PMP and budgeting experience are assets.

Qualifications

• 10 years experience within Industrial Construction projects.
• 5-10 years’ experience in Project Management and Estimating with a focus on industrial.
• Direct experience with a General Contractor or organization heavily involved in projects at the construction phase.
• 5 years’ experience in a leadership role on construction sites and/or managing operations.
• Operational budgeting experience an asset.
• Advanced MS Office, Excel skills.
• Experience in managing projects in excess of $100 million.
• Ability to forge, grow and maintain positive relationships with multiple groups.
• Ability to navigate a fast-paced, complex environment with shifting priorities.
• High ethical standards and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide safety leadership through implementation of Bird Safety Program and monitoring of safety performance of project team and subcontractors.
• Plan, schedule, set objectives and control activities during construction with the Project Superintendent and Team.
• Supervise and develop project team members via feedback, training and coaching; complete performance evaluations.
• Administer and manage prime contracts and subcontracts; negotiate/subcontract awards and evaluate performance.
• Manage project budget and billings; coordinate with accounting for timely payments.
• Review costs and identify revenue opportunities for the project.
• Prepare monthly/quarterly financial and performance reports for Senior Management.
• Foster positive relations and communication with clients, consultants, architects and subcontractors.

Construction Project ManagerThe Construction Project Manager leads, directs and coordinates the daily management of the assigned project(s). This leadership position is accountable for the overall performance of the project including costs, schedule, quality, project status, and adherence to company policies and procedures. More importantly, the Construction Project Manager will manage a successful team and help develop future construction professionals.

This position will be rotational between site & office.

What You Will Be Working On

Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Provide safety leadership through implementation of Bird Safety Program and monitoring of safety performance of project team and subcontractors.
• Planning, scheduling, setting objectives and controlling activities during the construction phase of a project(s) in conjunction with the Project Superintendent and Project Team.
• Supervision and development of project team members through regular feedback, training and coaching; timely completion of performance evaluations.
• Administration and management of prime contract and subcontracts; includes negotiation and awarding of subcontracts for scopes of work as well as review and evaluation of subcontractor performance.
• Manage project budget and billings and work with accounting to ensure timely payment of A/R and A/P.
• Review and analysis of costs and identify revenue opportunities.
• Monthly and quarterly reporting on financial and overall performance of project to Senior Management.
• Foster and maintain positive relations and communication with clients, consultants, architects and subcontractors.

What We Are Looking For
