Job summary

PCH Builders in Calgary, Alberta, is seeking an experienced Accountant to own accounting for development and construction projects. Reporting to the CFO, you will manage project accounting, reconciliations, period-end close, cash reporting, and investor reporting, guiding two direct reports who support bookkeeping.

Qualifications

• Five or more years of progressive accounting experience including full-cycle accounting.
• Experience preparing investor reports and explaining project results to non-financial stakeholders.
• Construction/real estate development or project-based accounting experience preferred.
• Experience leading bookkeeping or transactional staff, including remote team members.
• Proficient with QuickBooks Online and advanced Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookups, formulas).
• Willingness to learn and adopt AI tools to improve efficiency and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day accounting transactions and maintain accurate general ledgers for projects and entities.
• Oversee accounts payable/receivable processes, cash reporting, and intercompany transactions.
• Complete timely bank/GL reconciliations and maintain audit trails and internal controls.
