Job summary

Frontier-Kemper, a Tutor Perini Company, seeks a Construction Manager for our project in Squamish, BC. You will report to the Project Manager and oversee heavy civil, mining-focused construction activities including TBM operations.

The role requires deep experience with underground construction, coordination of owners, architects, consultants, contractors, and subcontractors, and a strong commitment to safety and quality. Vancouver-area relocation is supported.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or similar.
• 10+ years of TBM operations experience, specifically EPB & Mixshield TBMs.
• Hands-on experience with Herrenknecht equipment.
• 5+ years as a Project Manager or Construction Manager in heavy civil or mining.
• Experience in project management, field engineering, estimating, and scheduling.
• Willingness to work on mines and tunnels underground.
• OSHA 30, MSHA Instructor and Underground Mine Examiner certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with assigned project under direction of the Project Manager/Project Executive.
• Assist with project budgets and minimize exposure and risk on projects.
• Ensure procurement and proposal development activities move according to schedule.
• Communicate effectively with subs and vendors responsible for completing phases of work.
• Coordinate the efforts of all parties involved in projects, including owner, architect, consultants, contractors, and sub-contractors.
• Monitor/report progress of construction activities and hold regular status meetings with clients/consultants.
• Maintain strict adherence to quality and safety standards.
• Integrate new technology and mining methods at existing projects to improve production.
• Assist with post-bid work plans, procurement, scheduling, and cost control.
• Actively participate in production tracking and post-job analysis.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience with Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) operations, specifically EPB & Mixshield TBMs.
• Hands-on experience with Herrenknecht equipment
• 5 or more years' experience as a Project Manager or Construction Manager in heavy civil, mining, or a related area
• Previous experience with project management, field engineering, estimating, and/or project scheduling
• Ability and willingness to work on construction sites (mines and tunnels) within an underground environment
• OSHA 30, MSHA Instructor and Underground Mine Examiner Certifications are all preferred
