TBM Plant Manager (Tunnel Construction Project)

Protecnium is an international consulting firm specializing in engineering and technical services in construction. We are currently seeking a TBM Plant Manager for a major metro infrastructure project in Canada.

Initially Monday to Friday, 8 hours per day (100% onsite)

Position Summary

The TBM Plant Manager is responsible for overseeing all Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) operations on-site, ensuring efficiency, safety, and optimal performance. The role includes supervising maintenance activities, managing the plant team, and coordinating with other departments to achieve project milestones.

Key Responsibilities
  • TBM Operations: Manage and supervise daily TBM operations, optimize performance, and troubleshoot issues to minimize downtime.
  • Maintenance & Repairs: Plan and coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance; manage spare parts inventory; liaise with manufacturers and suppliers.
  • Team Management: Lead and supervise operators, technicians, and support staff; ensure training and compliance with safety standards.
  • Health, Safety & Environment: Ensure adherence to HSE regulations, conduct inspections, and promote environmentally responsible practices.
  • Project Coordination: Work closely with project management, engineering, and procurement teams to align objectives and report on progress.
  • Budget & Cost Control: Manage the TBM operational budget, monitor expenses, and approve maintenance and spare part costs.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records and prepare reports on TBM performance, maintenance, and project progress.
Requirements
  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in TBM or tunneling projects.
  • Holidays: 22 days per year.
  • Travel: Round-trip airfare covered at the beginning and end of the project.
  • Accommodation: Two weeks of hotel stay provided if necessary.
  • Work Tools: Company laptop and phone provided.
  • Health Insurance: 100% covered by the company for the employee.
