Job summary

Frontier-Kemper, a Tutor Perini Company, is seeking a Construction Manager for our project in Squamish, BC. You will report to the Project Manager and lead field activities on underground tunnel/mining sites.

The role requires extensive TBM experience, strong project management skills, and the ability to coordinate with owners, engineers, and subcontractors to meet safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management required.
• 10+ years of TBM operations experience (EPB & Mixshield).
• Hands-on experience with Herrenknecht equipment preferred.
• 5+ years as Project or Construction Manager in heavy civil/mining.
• Experience with project management, field engineering, estimating and scheduling.
• Ability to work on construction sites (underground mines/tunnels).

Responsibilities

• Assist with assigned project under direction of the Project Manager/Project Executive.
• Assist with project budgets and minimize exposure and risk on projects.
• Ensure procurement and proposal development activities move on schedule.
• Communicate with subcontractors and vendors responsible for work phases.
• Coordinate owner, architect, consultants, contractors and sub-contractors.
• Monitor progress and hold regular status meetings with clients/teams.
• Maintain adherence to quality and safety standards.
• Introduce new technology and mining methods to improve production.
• Assist with post-bid work plans, procurement, scheduling and cost control.
• Participate in production tracking and post-job analysis.

Description:

As a Construction Manager at Frontier-Kemper, reporting to the Project Manager, you will have the opportunity to:

• Assist with assigned project under direction of the Project Manager\Project Executive

• Assist with project budgets and minimize exposure and risk on projects

• Communicate effectively with the sub-contractors and vendors responsible for completing various phases of work

• Coordinate the efforts of all parties involved in projects, including the owner, architect, consultants, contractors, and sub-contractors

• Monitor/report the progress of the construction activities on a regular basis and hold regular status meetings with clients and/or consultant team

• Maintain strict adherence to quality and safety standards

• Integrate new technology and mining methods at existing projects to improve production

• Assist with preparation of post-bid work plans, procurement, scheduling, and cost control

• Actively participate in production tracking and post-job analysis

Requirements:

• A bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or similar

• 10+ years of experience with Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) operations, specifically EPB & Mixshield TBMs.

• Hands-on experience with Herrenknecht equipment

• 5 or more years’ experience as a Project Manager or Construction Manager in heavy civil, mining, or a related area

• Previous experience with project management, field engineering, estimating, and/or project scheduling

• Ability and willingness to work on construction sites (mines and tunnels) within an underground environment

• OSHA 30, MSHA Instructor and Underground Mine Examiner Certifications are all preferred
