Job summary

ClearWater Energy Services in Canada seeks a Manager, Construction to lead and deliver high‑safety, high‑quality construction, maintenance and turnaround projects. You will drive planning, resource coordination, budgeting and stakeholder management to achieve schedule and cost targets.

Reporting to the District Manager, you will mentor field teams, optimize workface execution, and ensure compliance with client requirements and regulatory standards across multiple concurrent programs.

Qualifications

  • Professional Engineer designation (Mechanical preferred) or Journeyperson Mechanical Trades Certification.
  • Minimum 10 years of supervisory experience managing industrial construction, maintenance, and turnaround projects.
  • Experience managing multiple projects with budgets ranging from $5 million to $20 million and workforces of up to 200 craft personnel and contractors.
  • Strong budgeting, forecasting, project management, cost control, and operational planning knowledge.
  • Experience reviewing and interpreting Requests for Proposals (RFPs), technical drawings, and project specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Lead construction, maintenance, and turnaround projects while upholding safety, quality, schedule, and cost targets.
  • Develop and implement project plans and execution strategies; manage workface planning and field work packages.
  • Coordinate resources including labour, materials, tools, equipment, and subcontractors.
  • Provide leadership to General Forepersons, Forepersons, and field personnel; mentor and develop team.
  • Monitor performance, ensure contractual commitments, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, estimating, and cost control activities.
  • Foster client relationships and ensure successful project outcomes.

Job Description

The Manager, Construction is responsible for leading the successful execution of construction, maintenance, and turnaround projects while ensuring the highest standards of safety, quality, schedule performance, and cost control. Reporting to the District Manager, this role provides leadership and direction to field operations teams, oversees project execution strategies, and ensures contractual obligations and client commitments are consistently met.

Working collaboratively with project managers, operations teams, clients, subcontractors, and site leadership, the Manager, Construction drives operational excellence through effective planning, resource management, and team development. This role requires strong leadership capabilities, extensive construction expertise, and a proven ability to manage multiple priorities in complex industrial environments.

Safety Leadership & Operational Excellence
  • Championing FLINT's HSE policies, programs, and initiatives across all field operations.

Project Planning & Execution
  • Supporting the development and implementation of project plans, execution strategies, and operational systems.
  • Managing workface planning activities, including work scopes, shift schedules, and field work packages.
  • Coordinating project resources to achieve safety, quality, schedule, and cost objectives.
  • Ensuring daily and weekly planning processes are maintained and effectively communicated to field supervision.
  • Driving efficient execution through proactive problem-solving and operational oversight.
Resource Management & Team Leadership
Provide Leadership And Direction To Field Operations Teams By
  • Supervising and supporting General Forepersons, Forepersons, and field personnel.
  • Coordinating labour, materials, tools, equipment, and subcontractor resources.
  • Working collaboratively with project leadership to identify and resolve resource challenges.
  • Supporting workforce development through coaching, mentoring, and performance leadership.
  • Building and maintaining a high-performing team environment focused on accountability and collaboration.
Client Relationships & Financial Performance
Support Successful Business Outcomes By
  • Ensuring contractual commitments and client expectations are consistently achieved.
  • Monitoring project performance and implementing corrective actions when required.
  • Supporting budgeting, forecasting, estimating, and cost control activities.
  • Analyzing operational and financial performance data to drive continuous improvement.
