Job summary

Pomerleau in Vancouver is seeking a Legal Counsel to join the Operational Support team. You will provide strategic legal advice on commercial and construction matters for projects ranging from $1.5 million to over $1 billion across Western Canada.

You will draft and negotiate contracts, review bid documents, support project teams, maintain templates, coordinate with external counsel, and help ensure compliant, efficient operations.

Qualifications

• LL.B. or J.D. required with Law Society of British Columbia membership.
• ~5 years of construction and/or commercial law experience.
• Experience with PPP agreements and CCDC contracts is a plus.
• Strong negotiation, drafting, and advocacy skills.
• Ability to manage multiple matters and work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and negotiate construction, subcontract, service, and other commercial contracts.
• Provide legal guidance to project teams on a wide range of matters.
• Maintain and update contract templates and corporate documents.
• Review bid documents for private and public procurements; assess delivery models.
• Coordinate with external counsel and internal stakeholders across projects.
