Job summary

Toronto Community Housing seeks a high‑caliber Legal Counsel to support procurement, construction, and related commercial matters across a large property portfolio. You will deliver practical, risk-based legal advice and negotiate complex contracts for capital works and vendor relationships.

You'll work with internal teams and external counsel, shaping policy, training staff, and guiding project delivery while upholding the tenant‑focused culture of the organization.

Qualifications

• Eligible to practise law in Ontario with LSО qualification.
• Bachelor of Laws, Baccalaureate of Law, or Juris Doctor.
• 3–5 years post-call experience in procurement, construction, or related fields.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal advice on procurement, construction, and related commercial matters.
• Draft, review, revise, and negotiate procurement documents and contracts.
• Advise internal clients on procurement strategy, risk allocation, and bid processes.
• Support project delivery issues including change orders, delays, and disputes.
• Mentor staff and coordinate with external counsel when needed.
• Develop procurement templates, policies, and training materials.
