Job summary

Article is seeking a commercially minded Legal Counsel to provide practical business-focused legal support across Canada and the US, helping our teams move fast while mitigating risk.

You’ll work in a tight-knit, hybrid Vancouver-based legal team, reporting to our Head of Legal, handling commercial and operational matters, drafting non-standard agreements, and partnering with procurement, logistics, marketing and finance.

Qualifications

• 4+ years post-call experience, ideally with a mix of law firm training and in-house.
• Bar in good standing with a Canadian law society (preferably BC).
• Commercially minded with risk management and business impact focus.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and practical legal advice to internal teams on day-to-day commercial, operational, and risk issues.
• Draft and negotiate high-impact, non-standard commercial agreements.
• Identify legal and business risks early and balance protection with agility.
• Manage relationships with external counsel when specialized advice is needed.
• Collaborate with Head of Legal and business leads across Canada and the US.
