Job summary

Pomerleau seeks an experienced Legal Affairs Manager to lead strategic legal initiatives across Canada, reporting to the Director, Legal Affairs. You will guide senior leaders on complex contracts, manage risk, and oversee a small legal team delivering practical, business-focused solutions for major projects in Ontario and British Columbia.

You will drive contracting standards, partner with cross-functional teams on procurement and bids, and advise on project financing and lender requirements.

Qualifications

• Ability to negotiate and manage complex commercial and construction contracts.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills with senior leaders.
• Experience leading and developing legal teams in a fast-paced environment.
• Bilingual English/French is an asset; willing to travel across Canada.

Responsibilities

• Lead legal support for major construction and infrastructure projects throughout their lifecycle.
• Draft, negotiate, and advise on complex construction, commercial, and partnership agreements.
• Provide strategic guidance on contractual risk, project delivery, and commercial matters.
• Support project financing initiatives and related lender requirements.
• Partner with business development and operations teams on procurement, bids, and contract negotiations.
• Drive development and improvement of contracting standards, templates, and processes.
• Manage relationships with external counsel and other advisors.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of legal professionals.
• Advise senior leadership on legal, commercial, and strategic initiatives.
