As a Construction Inspector, your responsibilities include:

• Conducting on-site inspections of third-party attachments on electrical distribution poles to ensure compliance with Ontario Regulation 22/04 and Hydro One’s CVP;
• Reviewing as-built documentation and verifying accuracy against field conditions;
• Completing inspection records and certificates for compliant installations;
• Addressing deficiencies through corrective action reports and informing installers;
• Performing QA/QC inspections and ensuring adherence to Hydro One’s requirements;
• Documenting non-compliances and submitting reports for corrective actions;
• Implementing increased sampling for recurring deficiencies;
• Maintaining accurate records and reports;
• Communicating findings to stakeholders;
• Ensuring safety standards and regulations are met;
• Reporting hazards and participating in safety training.

Your profile

• Background in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Utility Infrastructure (diploma or degree preferred);
• 3+ years of relevant experience in electrical distribution system QA/QC and construction verification;
• Knowledge of Ontario Regulation 22/04 and Hydro One’s CVP;
• Understanding of utility pole infrastructure and electrical safety standards;
• Experience with electrical design and as-built documentation;
• Proficiency in GIS, digital tools, and data collection software;
• Valid driver’s license and ability to operate in various locations;
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and reporting skills;
• Effective communication and independence in work.
