Job summary

VSL Canada, a Bouygues Construction subsidiary, is seeking a General Accountant to manage day-to-day accounting, accounts payable, tax documentation, and compliance with Canadian accounting requirements. The role reports to the CFO and works with the finance team.

The candidate should have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance, 5+ years of experience, knowledge of Canadian tax rules, and ERP experience (SAP). We offer health benefits, RRSP, vacation, sick leave and flexible work arrangements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of progressively responsible accounting experience.
• Knowledge of federal and provincial tax and regulatory requirements.
• Experience with external audits and month-end closing.

Responsibilities

• Process supplier invoices and post accurately and timely.
• Review payments per procedures and authorities.
• Monitor invoice status and follow-ups with vendors.
• Prepare tax documentation under Canadian regulations, Ontario focus.
• Support month-end and year-end closing activities.
• Reconcile general ledger accounts and investigate variances.
• Maintain accounting records and supporting documentation.
• Assist auditors and explain transactions with evidence.
• Contribute to internal controls and process improvements.
• Collaborate with finance and operations teams.
