Job summary

Donysh is seeking an on-site Estimator with 2–3 years of experience in residential construction to prepare cost estimates and manage tendering processes in Ontario. Responsibilities include reading blueprints, analyzing tenders, and monitoring project costs.

The role emphasizes coordination with engineers, architects, and contractors, with a focus on accurate budgeting, reports, and bid submissions. On-site work is mandatory at a physical location.

Qualifications

• Must have college/CEGEP diploma (1–2 years).
• 2+ years of estimating or related experience.
• Ability to read blueprints, drawings and specifications clearly.

Responsibilities

• Prepare estimates of labour and/or material costs.
• Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine work requirements.
• Prepare elemental format estimates (Classes B, C, D).
• Prepare estimates for general expenses and overheads.
• Provide economic feasibility studies and preliminary estimates for proposed projects.
• Project cash flow and financing requirements.
• Create and submit estimate reports, quote sheets and bids forms.
• Utilize quantity take-off procedures.
• Advise on tendering procedures.
• Analyze tenders and recommend awards.
• Set up cost monitoring and reporting systems.
• Monitor and adjust contract expenditures.
• Prepare and maintain directory of supplies and trade contractors.
• Liaise with engineers, architects, owners, contractors and subcontractors on cost estimate changes.
