Job summary

Jobot is a well-established construction firm seeking a seasoned Construction Estimator to join our Mississauga team. This full-time, on-site role involves estimating costs for hospitals, education facilities, schools, commercial buildings, and government projects.

Responsibilities include detailed cost analyses, data gathering with architects/engineers, and ongoing cost tracking through project lifecycles. Strong communication and negotiation skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum of 5+ years of experience in construction estimating.
• Proven experience estimating costs for hospitals, higher education institutions, schools, commercial buildings, and government projects.
• Proficiency in cost estimation software and tools.
• Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.
• Strong knowledge of construction materials, processes, and equipment.
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings and specifications.
• Exceptional communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in all work.

Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed cost and benefit analysis for various construction projects.
• Prepare, review, and update cost estimates throughout the project lifecycle.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, clients, contractors, and subcontractors to gather data for accurate estimates.
• Analyze blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documents to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates.
• Assess cost effectiveness of products, projects or services, tracking actual costs relative to bids as projects develop.
• Consult with industry experts to resolve cost discrepancies between estimates and actual costs.
• Prepare cost and expenditure statements and other necessary documentation during the project duration.
• Conduct risk assessments and present potential cost outcomes to stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

• 1. Conducting detailed analysis of the cost and benefits associated with various construction projects.
• 2. Preparing, reviewing, and updating cost estimates throughout the lifecycle of the project.
• 3. Collaborating with architects, engineers, clients, contractors, and subcontractors to gather all necessary data to produce the most accurate estimate.
• 4. Analyzing blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates.
