Job summary

Sasco Contractors Ltd. in Burnaby is seeking an electrician to perform electrical installations, interpret drawings, pull and connect cables, bend conduit, and install lighting and control systems in accordance with safety and quality standards.

You will work on projects across industrial, commercial, and institutional sectors in BC, with a union-driven team and opportunities for growth, while collaborating with foremen and coordinating tasks.

Qualifications

• Read and interpret drawings, circuit diagrams and electrical code specifications to determine wiring layouts.
• Good communication skills (verbal and written).
• Self-motivated with a proactive, can-do attitude.
• Punctual and prepared to work as required, including weekends.

WHO WE ARE:

Sasco Contractors Ltd, serves the industrial, commercial, and institutional markets all over BC, specializing in distribution upgrades, commercial one-off new builds, tenant improvements, server rooms and data communication in \"mission critical environments\", complicated fire alarm upgrades, EV car chargers, and electrical service and maintenance.

We work in a fast-paced environment, local to Burnaby and surrounding areas, with other offices in Kamloops & Vancouver Island. We are a tight-knit team of respectful and humble people working in coordination & sometimes independently, with a positive, solution focused, process-oriented approach and growth mindset.

The ideal candidate will perform electrical installations, including interpreting drawings, pulling and connecting cables, bending conduit, and installing lighting and control systems in accordance with safety and quality standards.

POSITION DETAILS:

• Sasco's employees are members of the IBEW. As a requirement of employment, you must be a member of the Local union.


• Only Local 213 IBEW members will be considered. Not exceptions.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

Complete all tasks as assigned by the Foreman and willingness to:

• Read and interpret drawings, circuit diagrams and electrical code specifications to determine wiring layouts.


• Pull cables in various environments.


• Bend conduit with hand benders and hydraulic benders.


• Install brackets and hangers to support electrical equipment.


• Install light fixtures and control systems.


• Splice, join and connect wire to various components to form circuits.
