Job summary

MYR Group is seeking a qualified Service Electrician for its growing special projects division in Metro Vancouver. Qualifications

Our Special Projects, Service & Maintenance District is growing, and we are looking for a motivated and experienced Service Electrician to join our team.

The role will be paid at the IBEW 213 rate for a B-Chargehand plus 3 weeks’ vacation and company paid union pension. The successful individual will be name requested through IBEW 213.

Essential Functions
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical systems efficiently and safely
  • Install and maintain electrical systems including:
    • Fire alarm systems
    • Electrical distribution systems
    • HVAC and lighting control systems
  • Respond to emergency service calls and after‑hours callouts as required
  • Perform site visits and assess client needs
  • Prepare small estimates and quotes
  • Manage and complete work orders accurately and on time
  • Maintain strong communication with clients and internal teams
  • Actively pursue and develop new service opportunities and client relationships
  • Lead small projects and oversee small crews when required
  • Mentor and train apprentices
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to continuous improvement
  • Ensure compliance with all safety standards, company policies, and electrical code requirements
Qualifications
  • Certified Journeyperson Electrician (Red Seal preferred)
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience as a Journeyperson
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a Service Electrician role
  • Class 5 Driver’s License with clean driving record (driver’s abstract required)
  • FSR certification is an asset
  • Current IBEW Local 213 member, or willingness to join
  • Strong working knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code
  • Proven troubleshooting and problem‑solving ability
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Able to navigate Microsoft Office 365 applications, SharePoint, and learn additional software as required while effectively managing files
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, and electronic)
  • Professional, client‑focused attitude, and able to be the face of the company and maintain a professional appearance and manner at all times
  • Self‑motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Flexible to work outside standard hours as required, including occasional after‑hours callouts
  • Willingness to travel and work out of town when required
  • Ability to pass background/security clearances for client sites
Compensation & Benefits
  • Salary: B-Chargehand paid weekly. Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. MYR Group reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate.
  • Benefits and annual vacation allotment per the respective IBEW collective agreement.

Position may be subject to pre‑employment screening, which may include background check and drug testing.
