Job summary

Rider Levett Bucknall is seeking a Civil Cost Estimator to prepare estimates of labour and materials for construction projects. You will read blueprints, perform economic feasibility studies, and prepare bid documents for client submissions.

The role requires 3+ years of related experience, college-level civil engineering education, and proficiency with estimating software, onscreen takeoff tools, and BIM. Work location is on site in Canada.

Qualifications

• Minimum education of College in Civil Engineering required.
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering preferred.
• Minimum 3+ years of related experience required.
• Experience with estimating software systems, onscreen takeoff software and BIM.

Responsibilities

• Prepare estimates of labour and/or material costs.
• Prepare pre-qualification submissions to present clients.
• Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine work requirements.
• Provide economic feasibility studies and preliminary estimates for proposed projects.
• Create and submit estimate reports, quote sheets and bids forms.
• Analyze tenders and recommend awards.
• Prepare cost plans, cost strategies, and change order reviews.
• Identify labor, material, and time requirements by studying proposals and drawings.
